Library is a very important organization and it played a very important role in maintaining books, journals, magazines and new papers some decades ago. At the present times also they are very important as they still are used to keep collection of modern information’s and entertainment related sources like Audio-Video cassettes, CD, Cinematic films, floppies, negatives etc The Librarian keeps all these information’s organized in such a way that any person who wishes to get any sort of information can get it easily himself/ herself.

The main work of the librarian these days is not just to keep a record of books, journals, Audio-Videos-like electronic sources of information’s or the CD, floppies, but to search for rare details about things and keep the information by storing the data in different forms. As the job of a Librarian is very challenging only the fittest and the most competent and deserving candidates are chosen for the same.

Before writing a resume for the post of a Librarian the candidate needs to gather information about himself as in his capability, areas he specializes in, the experiences he has by working for other libraries etc. The resume should be written in such a way that the employer is impressed by the candidates’ knowledge and ability as well as skill. It should also give full details of the candidate’s educational as well as professional backgrounds. The resume is like a synopsis of the whole personality of the candidate so it should have related key word which makes the candidate deserving.

When writing about objective the candidate should always mention about the post he is applying for on the basis of his past knowledge or experience that he has gained so far.

When writing about personal details the candidate needs to write about the qualities that are inherent in him that help him o look after the library and keep al the documents safe.

When writing about the Professional Expertise the candidate needs to mention his capabilities in handling all the work related to the library. Through the words that are used in the resume the employer should get a better insight of the candidate as well as of the deep knowledge and experience he has working in a library. The candidate also needs to mention about any rewards or awards he has got from a library or a publication house for his dedicated contribution to the same.

Under the professional experience the candidate needs to mention about the experiences the candidate has had earlier while working for different libraries and the responsibilities that he looked after in the organization.

When mentioning about the qualification the candidate needs to give all the details about his General education like graduation, post graduation etc. Mentioning the name of the school and universities along with the year in which the candidate passed is also essential.

If the candidate has done any professional course like diploma or degree course that would have helped him to excel in the field of Library Services should also be mentioned along with the Name of the Institute from where it was done along with the year in which it was done.

If the candidate has done any course on computers hardware and software technology, he needs to mention it in an extensive way which lets the employer know about his knowledge.

Apart from all the above mentioned skills if the candidate has any other extra qualities which may prove to be beneficial under the filed should also be mentioned.
